The Value of Preparedness in Marriage

The value of preparedness means readiness; organized; arrange by systematic planning and united effort.

Marriage Questions:

  • Have you and your spouse identified your ‘big rocks’ – including goals, milestones, vacation plans, birthdays, important celebrations, etc. – for the year ahead AND put them on your calendar?
  • When you sit down and plan next week with your spouse (this should be done weekly), what creative ideas are you going to suggest for your next date night?
  • If a serious accident happened to you or your spouse, who all should be notified, and how? Do both you and your spouse know where the checkbook is located and how to access your online accounts?
  • When was the last time you updated your Will? When was the last time you and your spouse talked about this topic?

How can the value of preparedness help you make your life less stressful and more fulfilling?

Today’s value was selected from the “Effectiveness-Influence” category, based on the e-book Developing Your Differentiating Values.
