What does it mean to “like” your spouse?
“It’s not enough to merely love one another, you actually have to like each other.”
That’s a great quote from Kara Myers, CMO (Chief Mom Officer) of Cicero’s Academy, in Austin, Texas. John Thompson is the Chief Instructor, and Kara’s husband. Together, they’re building a successful business.
But what exactly does it mean to “like” your spouse?
The value of affection might hold the clue. Affection means a positive feeling of liking; having or displaying warmth.
Married couples in business together inherently understand this value. It’s easier to work with someone you like.
So how can you enhance (or rekindle) your affection for your spouse? Here are 3 ways:
- Focus on Admiration – ponder over all the qualities you admire about your spouse.
- Focus on Fun – ensure you always build in time for some fun together.
- Focus on Positive People – surround yourself with positive influences.
To build a successful business with your spouse, it really helps if you first like them.
