3 Questions To Ask Before Selecting Values
Before selecting or even revising a set of values for an organization, there are three important questions to consider first:
- What is the “real” reason for pursing a set of values for the organization?
- Who stands to benefit the most from having a set of values?
- Why does the organization need a set of values?
Be clear on expectations for having stated values, how various stakeholders will benefit, and if values will even make a difference.
Only then decide if going down the path of selecting a set of values is the right choice.

P.S. I believe a small set of values can make a significant difference. But only if the right values are selected for the right reasons at the right time.
